December 23, 1926 - July 23, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Carroll was born on December 23, 1926 in the Capitol Hill area of Oklahoma City. His parents were William Carroll Emberton and Elizabeth Magdalene Flynn Emberton. He graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City Class of 1944. He attended the University of California at Berkley, Oklahoma City University and studied law at Oklahoma University School of Law. Carroll married Margaret Ann Thompson in 1947 and they were married for 61 years.Carroll is survived by his three children, Carole Ann Massey, Rebecca Emberton, Steve Emberton; also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Emberton. Other survivors are his two grandsons, two granddaughters, and one great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, his parents and two brothers, William "Bill" Emberton and Joseph Patrick Emberton.Carroll joined the U.S. Marine Corps in July 1944 and served until 1946. Further service in the Marine Corps included service in the organized reserve from 1947 until 1950. His employments include the Liberty National Bank, Federal Reserve Bank, Apco Oil Corp., Kerr McGee Refining and Marketing and the Oklahoma Horticulture Industries Council.A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N. Kelley Ave., Oklahoma City, OK.
