Obituary for Raymond Leo McDowell

Raymond Leo McDowell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the age of 92. The son of William Bryon and Viola Anna McDowell, Raymond was born January 14, 1924 in Boyle, Kansas. After graduating from high school, Raymond honorably served his country in the United States Army. During World War II, Raymond bravely fought during the European Campaign as a tank gunner. On June 12, 1943 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Raymond married his sweetheart, Betty Belle Williams and together shared more than 73 years of marriage and raising a family. He was a dedicated family man, who provided a good home for his family by working as a foreman in the welding department of OG&E. He retired from OG&E after 32 years of dedicated service and they moved Eufaula, Oklahoma. In 1999 they returned to Oklahoma City where they became active members of the Eastlake Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Raymond was an honest, hardworking family man who served the Lord, country and family. He was lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #9265, longtime member of the NRA, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking in his spare time. Raymond will be deeply missed.

Sisters: Doris Warren, Billie Hamm, and Susie Guinn;
13 Grandchildren: Randy Adams, Cami Choate, Michael Goff, Kim Womack, Mike Smith, Stacie Cobbs, Gina Flynn, Kari Miller, Bryan McDowell, Wade McDowell, Chad Bell, Joni Coffey, and Dustin Bell;
26 Great Grandchildren:
5 Great-Great Grandchildren;
Various nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
