Donald Ray Howerton passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home in Newcastle, with his wife, children and other family by his side. Don was 78 years. Don was born on March 26, 1938 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to her parents, William Calloway Howerton and Elsie Jewel (Deaville) Howerton. Don grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School, attended Central State University, then served six years as an airplane mechanic in the United States Air Force. Don spent most of his working life travelling the state repairing business machines for Burroughs, Standard Register and Unisys. Don also spent a number of years working with his brother in the oil industry. Don was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Don married Paula Gay Deaville in 1962. They lived in Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tulsa before building a home in Newcastle in 1981 where they raised their three children. Don enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, gardening, working on his tractor and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Daughter, Laura Wright and son-in-law, Scott of Newcastle, Oklahoma
Four grandsons: Ryan Pendergraft and his wife, Jessica, Scott Pendergraft, Jared Wright and Joshua Wright
Brothers: Richard Howerton and Jerry Howerton
