Mafford Nowell passed away on February 13th, 2017 at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mafford, known simply and affectionately as Mama to her Children, MeeMaw to her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, and Mae to her many customers over the years, was born in Clarksville, Texas on August 1st, 1943 to Joe and Ollie Nowell.

She is survived by her four Children that she cherished with every beat of her heart: Denise King of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Harlan King of Gun Barrel City, Texas, Brian King of Allen, Texas, and Kevin King of Piedmont, Oklahoma along with 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great- Grandchildren. Mafford is also survived by her brother Buddy Nowell and Wife Mary of Dekalb Texas, sisters Joann Yates of Clarksville Texas, Linda Dowdle and Husband Ray of Longview Texas, Ora Dicken and Husband Jerry of Paris Texas along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Mafford was preceded in death by her Parents, former Husband and Father of her children James King, one Brother Junior Ray Steward of New Boston Texas, Sisters Bobbie Skaggs of Paris, Texas and Louise Green of Texarkana Texas.

Mafford, throughout her life, worked predominately in the restaurant industry and was very well known for her exemplary service, food and most important her smile. She owned and managed many restaurants for over 50 years and most recently she still worked for Jimmy’s Egg in Northwest Oklahoma City where she was simply known as Mae and where people came from all around to see her. She loved to be able to cook and feed anyone that she ever met.

Mafford was truly the most selfless and giving human beings that God ever gave us, and always put others first. She will be missed by everyone.
