Condolence: Tom was more than just a boss to me he was my friend. He was always there for me with sound advice. I have met some of the best people I know thru Tom. His family has become my family for over 22 years. The kindness they have shown me and my brother can never be repaid.
We have two Yardbirds in heaven (Tom and Cody). No wonder we are doing so well.
Boomer Sooner You will be missed.

Condolence: Tom and I were not only law school classmates but good friends. We had the Stratford connection (my Dad was from there) but we simply connected as friends.
The story I have often told to illustrate generosity is: Tom learned I had accepted a unpaid summer internship with the Wounded Knee Defense/Offense Committee in South Dakota. He knew I scraped by financially as law student, so he handed me a round trip bus ticket which was a god send because I had no way to get there without it. I cashed the return so I would have some cash for the summer. It was a richly rewarding experience made possible by his generosity, and Tom did not hesitate to help a fried without me asking for help. It does not sound like much in today's opulence but it was a lot to me.
Tom was my friend and I will remember him and miss him.
Tom will understand I have commitments as a lawyer that will prevent me from attending the memorial service but he will be on my mind and in my prayers.

He was as good a man as I have ever known. His smile and optimism always lifted everyone. I was fortunate to have known him.

Condolence: I was a counselor and my husband a teacher at Metro Tech. We work with Tom for many years. When we saw his memorial today, we reflected about our experiences with him. We had never spoken how the impact of his life effect us personally. For my husband, Tom was supportive during some very difficult circumstances. For me, he was always there with a word of encouragement. After we retired, our son was impacted by his service in Iraq. Tom reached out to us personally to encourage us...little did we know (until today), that this came from his personal experience as a veteran. Clearly, his life was one of "service to others". Both of us experienced that first hand. Sometimes, it was just a short call or a brief passing during the day, but always, he reached out with thoughtful reflections and encouragement. We are grateful to have known him and his kindness resides in our heart as part of his legacy. We send our condolences to his family and will send prayers of comfort.

Condolence: As a long time member of the Career Tech family I remember Tom's positive impact on our system and the sage advice he often offered to us when we needed to make difficult decisions.

Career Tech has lost another valued member of our family and our prayers go out to the family he has left behind.
