Obituary for Don Lowry Ray

Don Lowry  Ray
Don Lowry Ray was born November 13, 1929 in Oklahoma City the son of Orville W. and Mary Matilda (Miller) Ray. He completed this life on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the age of 87.

Don was raised in Spencer graduating from Jones High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a sales manager for several heavy equipment companies including L. B. Smith Equipment and Leland Equipment. Later he owned Eagle Rental and Sales. Don was a member of Crossings Community Church and the Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma June Ray in 2002; his son, Steven Michael Ray in 1975 and his sister, Wilda Stone. After becoming a widower, he married Effie Osburn Moerman on August 13, 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Effie; his daughters, Donna Bain and her husband Ronnie of Germantown, TN and Jenny Ray of Edmond, OK; his sons, David Ray and his wife Cyndy of Collierville, TN, Bill Ray and his wife Sally and Kevin Ray and his wife Diane of Edmond, OK; his step-children, David Menefee and his wife Rhonda of Lubbock, TX, Jay Menefee and his wife Melaney of Moore, OK and Valerie Kyker and her husband Todd of Yukon, OK; his sister, Mrs. Eddie (Mary Lou) Rhodes of Farmington, NM; his grandchildren, John Thomas and his wife Julie, Brandt Ray and his wife Faith, Camon Brigadier and her husband Sean, Michael Ray, Steven Ray, J.T. Ray and Abby Ray; his great grandchildren, Flora and Evan Thomas; his 6 step-grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 3rd in the chapel of Crossings Community Church. A private family internment will be in the Kingfisher Cemetery.
