Darrell was born in Anadarko to Nellie Rosales. He was raised in the OKC area by his Grandparents Ben & Savina Rosales. He attended Capitol Hill High School and shortly after enlisted in the US Army and served his country proudly until 1968. During his time in the service he married Glenda South and they were blessed with two children, Darrell Jr. and Cheryl. After Darrell was discharged he began his career at Tinker and he worked at TAFB for over 20 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his:
Mother, Nellie Rosales;
Grandparents: Ben and Savina Rosales;
2 Brothers: Buddy Ervin and Gary Ervin.

He is survived by his:
Son, Darrell Rosales Jr, and his wife, Kualine;
Daughter, Cheryl Fields and her husband, Chris;
4 grandchildren;
2 brothers;
6 sisters.
