Peggy L. Smith went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the age of 89. The daughter of Thomas Benton and Rosa Ellen (Coffman) Wilkinson, Peggy was born May 29, 1928 in Gotebo, Oklahoma. She was the last of eleven children. She graduated from Duncan High School. Peggy married her sweetheart, James William “Bill” Smith and dedicated her life to being a loving wife, devoted mother, providing a warm and loving home for her family and above all else, serving the Lord. A longtime member of Oakcrest Church of Christ, Peggy was the true example of a Proverbs 31 woman and faithfully studied God’s word by reading her Bible daily. An avid gardener and birdwatcher, Peggy enjoyed feeding the birds every day. She enjoyed supporting the OU Sooners as well. She will be deeply missed but her legacy will continue on in all of us.

She was preceded in death by her:
• Husband, Bill Smith
• Ten brothers and sisters

She leaves behind her loving family:
• Daughter, Susan Ross and her husband, David
• Son, Phil Smith and his wife, Bonnie
• Three Grandchildren: Leslie Clark, Ryan Thomas and Gina Mauldin
• Two Great Grandchildren: Mirakole and Everett
• Many other loving family and friends
