Services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the South Colonial Chapel of Vondel Smith Mortuary (6934 S. Western)


Bill went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born October 18, 1928 in Pocasset, OK to Milton E. and Willie Kate (Freeman) Savage. Bill graduated from Minco High School in 1946 where he was a sportsman, but loved baseball & boxing. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, where he continued his boxing career & was a member of the golden gloves of America. He bravely & courageously fought during the Korean Conflict in the 45th Division. On February 4, 1951 he married the love of his life, Patricia Sue Brown, & together shared more than 64 years of marriage, raising their two children & serving the Lord. Bill provided a warm & loving home for his family by working as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, & was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association. He was longtime member of South Lee United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed hunting, reading, & watching baseball. He will remembered for his kindness and love for his family& country, and will be missed each day. Preceded in death by his parents; wife Patricia; 3 sisters & 3 brothers. Bill leaves behind his loving family: son, Mark E. Savage & his wife, Analaura of Reno, Nevada; daughter, Lydia Owens & her husband, Dennis of Tuttle, OK; Sister-in-law, Carolyn Savage; grandchildren: Shannon Plumlee; Justin Owens & his wife, Candice; Valeria Savage, Alexa Savage, & Diana Savage; great grandchildren: Dax, Trip, Luke & Presley; many other loving family & friends.
