Obituary for Shirley Yvonne George (Johns)

Vistation will be Monday July 24 from 4-8 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate her life will be held 1:00PM, Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the South Colonial Chapel (6934 S. Western)

Shirley passed away Friday at the age of 74. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City by her parents Isaac & Stella Johns. While attending Capitol Hill High School, she met & married her children’s father. She worked for many years as a beautician & retired in 1995 but never lost her passion for the salon. Shirley remarried to Gene George in May of 1978, & his son Arthur was lovingly welcomed to the family. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, & grandmother who will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gene, her brother, Thomas Isaac Johns, & her sister, Doris Jean Banks. Shirley is survived by her sons: Kenneth Lee Hale and Candy; Arthur George & Ellen. Daughters: Rhonda Faught & Nancy Hale. Grandchildren: Steven & Dustin Faught, Whitney Ragan, Breanna, Samantha, Bonnie Hale, Travis Woodyard. Great grandchildren: Skye Lynn Faught, Blake Faught, Chris Faught, Lillith Barr, & Alaenah Hecker; Brother, William Joseph Johns, & many other loving family & friends.
