Obituary for Lori Elizabeth (Fraier) Wilson

Lori Elizabeth (Fraier) Wilson passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017.  She was born on September 3, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Roland Joseph Fraier and Beverly Joanne Kunzman.  She was the youngest of three and adored her two big brothers, Mike and Rick.  Most of Lori’s youth was spent in Cleveland, surrounded by extended family members and friends.  Even after she moved to Tulsa with her immediate family during her teenage years, she maintained and cherished the relationships she had back ‘home’ in Cleveland.  She was pleasantly surprised by the overt friendliness of Oklahomans upon her arrival and, having her parents and brothers nearby, she happily made the transition to her new ‘home’ in Oklahoma where “strangers kept holding doors open” for her.

She married Terry Joe Wilson on September 20, 1980 and, from that marriage came what she described as her two greatest accomplishments:  Andrew Boyd Wilson, born in 1983, and Alexander Cale Wilson, born in 1986.  Her “boys” were always a great source of pride for Lori (and probably a good source of stress, too).  ‘Andy’ and ‘Alex’ knew they had been blessed with a benevolent, thoughtful, and loving mother.  These attributes were evident in every role Lori filled during her lifetime:  mother, daughter, sister, wife, friend, and coworker.  Lori spent most of her career in the field of human resources.  Her capacity to listen, understand, empathize, and advise earned her admiration both personally and professionally.

Lori’s greatest hero was her father.  She fondly recalled stories of him always putting those he loved first.  She particularly enjoyed sharing her memory of waking up for school in the mornings and finding a freshly cut rose on her nightstand, left by her father before he would go to work.  During her lifetime, Lori exemplified those traits she so greatly admired about her father and ensured that her boys felt the same love, warmth, and care that she experienced with her family.  While her loss is devastating, her family and friends can find solace in the knowledge that her impact on the many lives that she touched will continue for generations to come.  We also can find comfort knowing that she has finally been reunited with her father, mother, and oldest brother Mike, all of whom she loved dearly.

Lori was preceded in death by her father, Roland Joseph Fraier; her mother, Beverly Joanne Kunzman (Jo); and her brother, Michael Joseph Fraier (Mike).

She is survived by her brother, Richard Fraier (Rick) of Sand Springs, OK; her sons Andrew Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK and Alex Wilson of Muskogee, OK; her nieces Shelby Apple (and husband Wayne) of Sand Springs, OK and Chelsea Whiting of Sand Springs, OK; nephew Joseph Fraier (Joey) of Tulsa, OK; Aunt Marilyn Rucker (and husband Robert) of Cleveland, OH; and many other relatives.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Saints Valley at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, OK.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those wishing to remember Lori may do so by donating in her name to the American Liver Foundation, 39 Broadway, Suite 2700, New York, NY 10006, or a charity of their choosing.
