Lila “Edith” Crook, 88, found peace with the Lord on July 17, 2017. The daughter of Otis & Lydia Boatman, Lila was born Dec 20, 1928 in Cromwell, OK. Most of the Boatman Family of 7 brothers and sisters moved to Western Oklahoma in 1942. After graduating from Port High School in Washita County, Edith married into the Paul Crook, family of 10, all of Port, OK in July of 1946. Paul and Edith were married in Sayre, OK and honeymooned in Elk City, OK then shortly thereafter made their home on the Southside of OKC. Lila’s career in OKC was extensive working with various oil companies, mostly in drilling, but most notably her Federal work at the Murray Federal Bldg. with the IRS and the Oklahoma Draft during the Vietnam War years and her Oklahoma State career with Tourism and with the Oklahoma State House of Representatives where she retired. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Elsie Chapman, Jean Pederson & Ina Smith and brother: Lewis Boatman. She leaves behind her family: son, Kevin Crook & wife, Cara of Santa Fe, TX; brothers: Ted Boatman & wife Donna of Mustang, OK, and Bob Boatman & wife, Pat of Okemah, OK; Grandchildren: Jeremy Crook & wife, Maggie and Sara Crook; great grandchildren: Hadley, Madeline & Makenzie Crook; and countless other loving nieces and nephews, other family and friends. No viewing or visitation. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Assoc., 2123 N Classen Blvd, OKC, OK 73106 or Phone #405-319-0780 in lieu of flowers, if preferred. Services to celebrate her life will be held 10:00 AM, July 24, 2017 at Christ the King Church, 8005 Dorset Dr. OKC 73120 with burial following at 2:00 PM at Port Cemetery, Port, OK.
