Bertha Mae  Tonemah (Carr)
Services to be held at 10:00am Wednesday August 9th at Glorieta Baptist Church (7308 S Western Ave) in Oklahoma City. The interment will be 3:00 pm at Saddle Mountain Cemetery, Mountain View, OK.


Bertha made her journey to be with our Lord and Savior on August 4, 2017. Born on September 13, 1924 to Robert Carr (Marty Beaver) and Minnie Spaniard in Hanna, OK. Bertha was raised by Rev. Alva Harjo and wife Annie, (Bertha’s Aunt), near Henryetta, OK.
Bertha graduated from Haskell Institute in Lawrence, KS in 1947 and worked for Tinker AFB in the Technical Orders Department for 38 years. She met William Tonemah while working for Tinker and they married in 1952.


She was preceded in death by her:
Husband: William Tonemah;
Four Sisters: Beatrice Deere, Martha Carr, Rachel (Carr) Long, and Florence Harjo;
One Brother: Richmond Carr.


She leaves behind her loving family:
Son: Thomas Hilton Tonemah;
Son: William Tonemah;
Daughter: LaUna Tonemah;
Sister: Edna Glenn of Topeka, KS;
Granchildren: Lance Tonemah of Las Vegas, NV, Robert Tonemah of OKC, and Laura Cave of Moore, OK;
Great-Granchildren: Sophie Mae Tonemah of Las Vegas, NV, Luke Darden and Zack Darden of Moore, OK;
Nephews: Douglas Glenn of Topeka, KS and Marty Conrad of Ganado, AZ;
Niece: Brenda Sue Howell of Glenpool, OK;
As well as many other close friends and loved ones.
