Charlotte E. Dodson, 92 passed away on Saturday August 5, 2017. Born in Cordell, OK May 26, 1925 to Harvey Leslie & Marie Goldie (Fisher) Day, Charlotte was raised in Cordell graduating from Cordell High School & briefly attending OU & OSU. Charlotte married the love of her life Joe Austin Dodson, Sr. on September 4, 1943. Together they shared 71 years of marriage until his death in 2015. Charlotte & Joe, along with their family operated Dodson’s Cafeterias & Dodson Art Galleries for nearly 50 years, their early experiences being chronicled by Charlotte at age 85 in “Life on the Line”. A faithful Christian, she was a member of the Memorial Road & Oakcrest church of Christ. Always ambitious & willing to serve the community, she was a member & officer of several civic clubs, professional & auxiliary organizations throughout her life including The Redbud Club, Early American Glass Club, Women of the South, Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma Restaurant Association, Oklahoma Arts Council and Docent at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was appointed by Governor Keating to the Library Commission, where she faithfully served for nine years. Charlotte wished to be remembered for her Love of the Lord Jesus Christ, serving others and running the cafeterias. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harvey Day & husband Joe Dodson, Sr. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue on within her family & the lives of those she touched. Survivors include; son Joe Dodson, Jr. & wife Dianne, their children Kathryn & husband Patrick Campbell, Chris & Tameria Dodson (Baker); son David Dodson & wife Sue, their children Dacia & husband Mike Harris & their sons Jack & Sammy, Danae & husband Luke Waits; Shelley & husband Ross Sauter; son Benjamin Dodson & his children Nicholas & Sarah Dodson & their sons Hayden & Luke, Lance & wife Danielle Dodson; son Charles Dodson & wife Diane & their children Chance & wife Julie Dodson; daughter Chelsea Dodson.
