Betty Sue Goforth, lovingly known as “Susie” by her family and friends, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 71. She was born May 5, 1946 in Rogers, Arkansas to her parents, Charles and Bernice (Gray) Gastineau. Susie was raised in the south Oklahoma City area along with her two brothers and two sisters. Susie graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1965. In 1967, Susie married Jim Goforth, and they spent 33 years of marriage together until his passing in November of 2000. Susie worked for Western Electric for a number of years until her retirement in '99. Susie was a very active member at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Shawnee. She made rosaries by hand for the church and helped prepare meals and assisted with church functions. Susie also loved animals and especially horses. She was active with the Miniature Horse Club & was also the secretary for many years. She showed horses for a number of years and had a national champion horse "Cuttter."Anybody that was around Susie knew that animals were her life although she also loved her family dearly. Susie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim, daughter, Dawn Renee Goforth, and brother Charlie Jr. She is survived by her sisters, "Char" Kozak & husband Frank, & Loretta & husband Tim Colley, brother, Steve Gastineau and his wife DeeAnn, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
