Viewing will be from 12-8 PM Sunday with the family receiving friends from 2-4 PM at Vondel Smith Mortuary, South Colonial Chapel.
Services to celebrate her life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at Day Funeral Home Chapel (1075 State Hwy CC, Marshfield, MO 65706) with interment to follow in the Marshfield Cemetery, Marshfield, MO.


Gladys Elizabeth Ward joined Heaven’s angels on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 94. The daughter of Simeon Monroe and Bettie Minerva (Jinks) Rader, Gladys was born November 2, 1922 in Radertown, Missouri. She married her sweetheart, Floyd William Ward on September 7, 1940, and together shared more than 60 years of marriage and raising Brenda Sue. Gladys dedicated her life time being a loving wife, devoted mother and loving homemaker. She always met the needs of her family and others before herself. She also worked as a realtor in her later years. Gladys thoroughly enjoyed cooking. She was an exceptional cook, especially when she was making fresh rolls, chicken & dumplings, biscuits & gravy and fresh apple cakes. With a contagious smile, Gladys loved with all of her heart and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her:
Parents;
Husband, Floyd William Ward;
Special little dog, Henry.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her:
Daughter, Brenda Sue Greer and her husband, Calvin of Norman, Oklahoma;
Granddaughter, Nancy Susanne Greer Alcocer of Houston, Texas;
Granddaughter, Cathy Elizabeth Greer of Edmond, Oklahoma;
Granddaughter, Amy Leah Greer Hernandez and her husband, Kim of Norman, Oklahoma;
Great-grandchildren: Courtni Alcocer, Stephanie Alcocer, Megan Hernandez, and Zachary Hernandez;
Great-great-grandchildren: Brice Kinsey and Taj Walker;
Numerous other family and friends, especially those who loved her in Missouri.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her aides, Amanda & Shannon; nurses, Jill and Janese and her “Special Doc”, Dr. James Love and his nurse, Stacy, for the great care they provided to her.
