Johnny Derroll “John” Hickson, 81, passed away on October 18, 2017 in Oklahoma City. John was born on April 9, 1936 in Big Spring, Texas to Fenton and Ethel (Rice) Hickson. John was an active member of the Oklahoma City Oilmen’s Club and served in many offices including chairman of the annual golf tournament for many years. Everyone had a good time at these events and they were a huge success. John is survived by his wife, Rita; his sons, John Hickson, Jr and wife Patty, and Chris Hickson; his sisters, Joanna Hansrote, and Linda Long and husband Howard; his sister in law, Vaughn Hickson; his brother, Robert Hickson and wife Margaret; three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his daughter Regina Hickson, his brother Eddie Hickson, and his sister Marie Hull. Viewing and visitation will be held from 4 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home, with family greeting guests from 5 to 7:00 PM. A memorial service to remember John will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the Crossings Community Church – Chapel, 14600 N. Portland Ave. OKC, OK.
