Angels carried Kate M. Grant, 93 years old, to heaven on December 5, 2017, from the Grace Living Center- Brookwood. She was born into the family of William and Clara Brown Weeks on September 11, 1924 in Indianola, OK.
Kate married the love of her life, Melvin Grant, on November 26, 1941 in Scipio, Oklahoma. Together, they had five children, Laquetta Grant and Edgar H. Brummett (deceased) of Sautée, Georgia; Gary and Rosetta Lair Grant of Lake Kiowa, Texas; Dwight Grant (deceased); Ted and Sally Brown Grant of Crossville, Tennessee; Michael and Angela Hughes Grant of Midwest City, Oklahoma. They had 12 grandchildren (one deceased) and 18 great-grandchildren.
During WWII, Kate worked in the shipyards in Pittsburg, California, as a welder, while her Marine husband fought overseas. As a Rosie the Riveter, Kate often related that she was building a ship in which to bring her husband back home. Kate proudly served for 10 years as the president of the local chapter of Rosie the Riveters in Moore, Oklahoma.

Kate and her husband, Reverend Melvin Grant, were both actively involved in the ministry for 58 years, pastoring and evangelizing for the Church of God, not only in the US, but overseas. Rev. Grant passed away in 2008 in Moore, Oklahoma.

The family gives a special thanks to the staff of Grace Living Center for their wonderful care of our loved one.

Proverbs 31:30 says, "Favour is deceitful and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised."
