Viewing will be held 4-8pm Thursday, February 22, 2018 and 4-8 Friday, February 23, 2018 at the funeral home.

Services to honor his life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the Little Chapel of the Roses (500 SW 104th) with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Richard Lee Simonton, 81, passed from this life Sunday February 18, 2018. He was born August 22, 1936 the son of Bert and Myrtle (Russell) Simonton in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After completing high school, Richard served his country in the U.S. Army. While serving in the Army, he received the Good Conduct Medal. Ain 1959 Richard joined the Air National Guard. He worked for the FAA for 20 years. Richard loved fishing and was a fishing guide at Lake Texoma. He also loved stock car races, dirt biking and taking on new and different hobbies every summer. Richard would find or make friends everywhere he went. He found strength and comfort reading and studying his Bible. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers. He leaves cherished memories with his son, Alan Dale Simonton, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; daughter, Vicki Diane Johnson and her husband Harold, of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Bradley Johnson & wife Lynne and their family of Oklahoma City, Dustin Johnson and wife Alison of Houston, TX, Nicole Heine and husband Craig, Scott Simonton, Arieanna Simonton, and Nathaniel Simonton, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; great grandchildren, Callan Johnson, of Oklahoma City and Elizabeth Simonton, Johnathan Allman, Tarynn Simonton, and Anja Simonton, of Carlsbad, New Mexico; as well as numerous nieces, friends, and other loved ones.
