Obituary for Vicki Lynn Dailey (Fibus)

Vicki Dailey, 75, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning. Vicki was born in Pine Bluff, AR and moved to Wichita, KS in her early teens. She graduated from Wichita High School North. Vicki attended the University of Kansas and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Vicki is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Victoria Fibus, her brother Jess Fibus and sister in law Marilyn Fibus. Vicki is survived by her husband of 32 years Jim Dailey, her daughters Deanne Mitchell and Julie (David) Knight, her son Jim (Beth) Dailey, her grandchildren Nate Mitchell, Owen Mitchell, Tess Dailey, Finn Dailey and Maeve Dailey and her Fur baby, Cody. Vicki recently moved from Greenville, SC. to Oklahoma City, OK. to be with her family and is survived in Oklahoma by her nieces Carrie (Mike) Rohr, Claire (Steve) Dodson and her nephew Steve (Susan) Fibus, her great nieces and nephews, Joe (Olive) Rohr, Sam Rohr, Kayla (Jeff) Jones, Paige Dodson, David Fibus, and Daniel Fibus as well as several great, great nieces and a great, great nephew.

Vicki loved both teaching and playing contract bridge. She achieved Life Master status in the American Contract Bridge League. She loved singing in the church choir. Vicki also loved to travel and was just in Colorado for her grandsons’ college and high school graduations. She was an avid sports fan. She loved to root for her OU Sooners. She was also a fan of Kansas Jayhawk basketball and the New Orleans Saints.
You could find Vicki in the morning completing her crossword puzzle and, in the afternoon, watching “her story”, Days of our Lives. Vicki also did volunteer work for the American Cancer and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Societies.

Most important to Vicki was spending time with her many friends. She enjoyed getting together for card games and dinners. She touched many people with her kind spirit and exuberant outlook on life. She will be missed by friends she met while living in Wichita, KS., Kansas City, MO., Alexandria, VA., Greenville, SC. and Oklahoma City, OK.



Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, May 25th from 4-8pm at Vondel L. Smith & Son funeral home located at 13125 N MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be held at New Covenant Christian Church 12000 MacArthur Blvd. at 10am on Saturday, May 26th with a burial immediately following at Chapel Hill cemetery.
