Obituary for Billie June (Stone) Scoufos

Billie June Scoufos was born Sept. 30, 1927 to Elwood Ray & Fannie Lee (Fallis) Stone, in the family home near Frederick, OK. She completed this life on Friday, June 1, 2018, in Oklahoma City at age 90.

The eldest daughter of successful, hard working farm & ranching family, Billie was raised with solid, loving family values. Her family was active in the rural & thriving small town communities as members of the Church of Christ. Billie loved people, & enjoyed gatherings & celebrations with lifelong friends. She was a proud member of her High School championship girl’s basketball team, graduating with honors delivering the commencement speech. She attended O.U. where she studied interior design & was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. There she met & married former Marine Corporal Raymond John Scoufos, “the Greek” in the First Christian Church of Norman, OK on Dec.15, 1946.

The loving wife of career Army Colonel, Billie created beautiful homes in Okemah, Ada, Ardmore, then Fort Sam Houston & Fort Ben Harrison. She entertained the military elite & the wives clubs in proper fashion. She loved gardening, receiving awards throughout the years. She attended multitudes of military events with pride for country & respect for her husband’s position. Billie served as Deacon in the First Christian Church of Ada & Ardmore. Retiring in 1977 to their Greens Country Club home, Billie's remaining years were spent enjoying family, friends & the growing number of grandchildren & great grandchildren. She created cherished memories for all.

Billie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years Raymond, who departed this world on June 18 2013; her parents; her siblings Odell, Euell & Shirley K.. Billie is survived by her son Vincent Scoufos & wife Tina of Afton, OK; their children Lezley Lynch (Steve), Steven Scoufos (Linda), Ryan McKenzie (Amy), Molly Crouch (Bill), Stratton Beaubien (Charlise); her daughter Ramona Harbour & husband Steve of Littleton,CO; their children; Valerie LeVier (Tim), Rebekah Harbour (Travis Harbert),Monica Transier (John), Nicole Harbour; 22 great-grandchildren & two great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing from 1- 8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 1-3 p.m.. Celebration of Life will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 11th at Vondel Smith Mortuary, North Chapel, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd..

Interment 2:00 P.M. in Ft. Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, OK. Memorials: 45th Division Infantry Association (memo: European Monument Fund), 2145 N.E. 36th St, Oklahoma City, Ok 73111.
