Florentino “Tino” Paul Ramirez was born in San Antonio, Texas, on September 29, 1964 to Pedro & Gloria Ramirez. Tino graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1983 in San Antonio, Texas. He began vocational training in 1982 at Kelly Air Force Base. He met the love of his life in 1990, Michelle Aguilar, at a stoplight in San Antonio, Texas. They were married in 1993 and their family grew in size to include 4 children; Garrett, Lindsey, Jeremy, and Cassidy. Following the closure of Kelly AFB in the mid 90’s, Tino and his family made the move to Moore, Oklahoma, in 1997 where he then transferred to Tinker AFB to continue doing what he loved; aircraft sheet metal. He worked with the 564th AMXS MXDPAB Division that was mainly responsible for working on the KC-135 aircraft. Tino’s skillset and innovative mind, including his civil service career of 36 years, earned him awards and medals. One award resulted in the government saving millions of dollars. He also enjoyed working on and restoring vehicles. Tino crafted many different objects. His most famous craft, “forever” roses and lilies, were crafted out of sheet metal then hand-painted. He enjoyed spending time helping friends, neighbors, and family alike. He battled with Type I Diabetes for many, many years, and became dependent on hemodialysis in 2013. No matter his complications and state of health, he gave his everything and always made time to help others. Tino did everything with passion, no matter how great or small. He enjoyed family bbq’s on Sundays and everyone loved his bbq chicken. Tino is now gone from this earth, but will always be remembered by his loved ones for his big heart, sense of humor, passion, dedication, and kind nature.
