Condolence: Robert & Edy we’re there for every major and most minor events in my life. Whether those events were calling for celebration or a shoulder to lean on or whether I just needed advice or to be told to “straighten up!” I can’t imagine growing up without these two wonderful people in my life. Now I find it hard to imagine the world without both of them in it. You both gave me so much, treated me more like a child than a nephew. You took me on adventures. Robert always took me to the latest James Bond movie or the time we went to see Jaws and Debbie jumped and threw popcorn everywhere! I never met a man with so many stories to tell. You touched so many lives. I’ll miss you terribly. The world is just a bit dimmer without you. Robert & Edy, I love you both

Condolence: I am sorry to hear of Bob's passing. It seems not all that long ago that we met as students in Shields Heights Elementary school. I remember riding the back of his Cushman Eagle motor scooter, holding our .22 rifles wrapped up in a quilt, as we went out to the country to target shoot. I installed a electric connector on his Police motorcycle so that he could plug in electric socks to keep his feet warm in the Winter. Time goes by so quickly. Bob was Best Man at our wedding, 57 years ago. We moved away from OKC just after Christmas 1965 and gradually lost contact. Rest in Peace old friend.

Condolence: Bob was a good friend and excellent leader. I worked for him at the jail when he made Sgt. I retired in 1985 when he was chief. I am proud to have his name on my retirement plaque.

Condolence: Bob Wilder was undoubtedly the most beloved Police Chief in the history of OCPD. He lead the greatest Police Department in Oklahoma by example. His wisdom, humor and compassion have been greatly missed by all who knew and worked for and with him.
Rest In Peace Chief, it’s been well earned.

Condolence From: Brad Holt
Condolence: Bob was one of those rare individuals who could make you feel like a dear friend within five minutes after you met him. He had a wonderful and twisted sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh. As a boss, he had a way of making you feel as if you were working WITH him instead of FOR him. I learned how to be a street cop from some very good men, but I learned police administration and supervision from Bob. He was a patient mentor and a skilled manager of people. I'm grateful to have been a member of his staff at OCPD.
