Obituary for George Julius Yarbrough

George passed away on August 3, 2014, at the age of 79. George was born in Bethany, OK to Foster Beeson and Dorothy Noonan Yarbrough. He worked as a store manager for C.R. Anthony, a club/restaurant owner, sports analyst in Las Vegas, and heavy equipment sales for Turbo Diesel. Growing up, he sold the newspaper, watermelons, and anything to make a living. He enjoyed all sports throughout high school. He was an avid golfer until a stroke changed his life's path. In his retirement years, he loved nothing more than to travel with Hughlene. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; first wife, Dorothy; sons, Perry Max and George Julius Yarbrough Jr; daughter, Dana Avants; brother, Charles Foster; and sisters, Mary Helen and Dorothy Mae. Survivors include: wife, Hughlene; brother, Ed and wife Marsha; daughter, Debi French; stepson, Chris Bruner; grandchildren, Nic Tramell, Ashley Cogburn, and Austin Tramell; and great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ainsley, Estella, and Avery. He also leaves behing a bonus daughter, Tami Hall; and bonus grandchildren, Colton and Caitlin. He also leaves a beloved sister-in-law, Wilma Dean; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special thanks to his longtime physician and friend, Richard Greyson. Visitation with family will be held at Vondel Smith, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd., on Tuesday, August 5, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 11 a.m. at Chapel of the Cross, Church of the Servant, 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73142, Tim Travers officiating.
