Obituary for Bertha Lou Glover

Bertha passed away on November 22, 2022 in Oklahoma City. She was born on May 29, 1936 in Lone Camp, Texas to George Madison and Sula Elizabeth (Thornton) Holder. In 1954 Bertha graduated from Santo High School in Santo, Texas and later graduated from Hills Business and Cosmetology School.

Bertha married Vernon Lee Glover, Sr. on January 25, 1959. They were longtime members at Southwest Baptist Church. They began attending SW Baptist in July of 1971. Bertha enjoyed making coffee and service for the Saturday morning bus visitation and also liked to make Mississippi Mud Cakes for special church occasions.

Bertha was employed as a secretary for 38 years. She worked for Lucent Technologies for 18 years and retired from Lucent. She also owned and operated her own beauty salon for 7 years. In her spare time, Bertha enjoyed reading, watching game shows and liked watching OU and OKC Thunder games on TV. When she was able, she loved to sew and make quilts.

Bertha will be deeply missed by her family but she will never be forgotten.

Brother, Mitchell Holder;
8 nephews and 3 nieces.

Bertha is survived by her
Son, Vernon Glover, Jr and his wife Cheri;
Step-Son Gary Hughes and his wife Monica;
Grandson, Steven Glover and his Wife Kylie;
Grandson, Kevin Glover;
Step Grandson, Jason Hughes and his wife Lisa;
Step Grandaughter, Laura McGuire;
Great Grandsons, Oaklan Glover and Logan Hughes;
Step-Great Grandaughters Mia and Presley Smith;
As well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Jasmine Estates of Oklahoma City and Bristol Hospice for their kindness and loving care during this time.
