Obituary for Evelyn J. Wise

Evelyn J. Wise (Momsey) entered into eternal rest with her heavenly Father on Friday, March 3, 2023 at the age of97. She was born on August 9, 1925 in Morris, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Nola Willhoite. Evelyn grew up in Morris Oklahoma and became the church pianist at age 9. She moved to Oklahoma City at age 16 and continued to be the church pianist at the First United Pentecostal Church and Southeast United Pentecostal Church of Oklahoma City. She was a current member of the Abundant Life Church of Moore. She was a home maker and retired as an accountant from Star Manufacturing after 30 years of service.

Evelyn is remembered as a graceful lady with a huge smile and made a lasting impression on all who knew her. To the world she was Evelyn Wise, but to those that loved her she was Momsey. Momsey was the epitome of a servant's heart.. . not once ever... did we ever see her upset, angry, or hear her say an ill word... a consummate example of a woman of God, mother, and grandmother. She above all things fought the good fight and kept the faith, and now has finished her race. As we struggle to sorrow not in this life that her absence will leave, this one thing we do know, generations will be blessed because of her fight, faithfulness, and race that she ran. Momsey will be deeply missed by all.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nola Willhoite, daughter Pam Butler, and brother Leon Willhoite.

Evelyn leaves cherished memories with her loving family: daughter Robbye Hadlock and husband Joe Hadlock of Oklahoma City, son-in-law Dan Butler of Cerritos California, grandson Shane Hadlock and wife Meleah Hadlock, granddaughter Shana Guillotte, and husband Hank Guillotte of Midland Texas, grandson Dane Butler and wife May Butler of Cerritos, California, and nine great grandchildren, Makenna and Sadie Hadlock, Ty, Taylor, Devin, and Analyn Guillotte, Logan, Levi, and Luke Butler, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Special recognition and gratitude is given to Harbor Chase care givers and staff, and Legacy Hospice who lovingly cared for her to the end.
