Harold William Pickens, Jr. went to be with his Heavenly father on April 18, 2023, at the age of 88. The son of Harold Everett Pickens, Sr. and Gladys Addie (Emmitt) Pickens, Harold, Jr. was born November 26, 1934, in Canton, Oklahoma. He joined the Army in September 1957 and honorably served his country and in later years joined the National Guard. In 1966 while stationed in Germany, Harold married his one true love, Gerda, while serving in Germany, and then moved to Oklahoma City where they shared 43 years together. In addition to being a loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather, he also worked as a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service before his retirement in November 1997 after 37 years.

Harold enjoyed gardening, cooking, investing, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the official taxi driver for all grandkids.

He enjoyed his friends Jackie, Donna, Kristi, David, and his many friends that met at McDonalds in Moore for coffee and conversation.

Harold loved and cared deeply, and had a wicked sense of humor that will be missed daily. We are blessed to have known a man that was truly selfless in his love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his Wife, Gerda H. Pickens, and brothers and sister-in-laws Ernie and Peggy Pickens, Carson and Joan Pickens and brother-in-law Dick Herod.

He leaves behind his loving family, Daughter, Nicola and Tim Frisby and grandsons Ian and Finn, Daughter, Inge and Mike Myers and grandson Mason and Allie Myers and great-granddaughters Murphy and Millie-Kate Myers and Granddaughter Madison and Jake Woods and Waylon and Walker Woods. Sisters Phoebe Pickens, Phyllis Herod, and brother Emitt and Juanita Pickens, as well as many other extended family & friends.
