Obituary for Ronald Gene Hixon

Ronald Gene Hixon, 70, was born on May 28, 1952 to William and Wanda Hixon of Oklahoma City, OK. Ron graduated from Northwest Classen High School. He joined the Air Force where he served 6 years before being honorably discharged and pursued a career in carpentry. He completed his Carpenter Apprenticeship in 1980 and started his career with Nashert Construction Company. In 1987, Ron became a superintendent with Anderson and House, Inc. until 1997 where he became part owner and finished out his construction career and retired in 2014. His love for construction and creating new projects did not stop after retirement. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and took so much pride in his work and expected perfection as a result. Ron worked hard and he played hard and enjoyed spending his time at Lake Murray where he crated life long memories with his family and lifelong friends. In 2021, Ron was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He fought a courageous battle until March 1, 2023 where he passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, William Hixon. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, of 44 years; 2 daughters, Jennifer and Michelle; 4 grandchildren, Ashlyn, Camryn, Makenna, and Michael; his mother, Wanda; sister, Linda (Bill); brother, Terry (Jan); and nieces and nephews, whom he loved all dearly. Ron will be greatly missed as he taught us so many life lessons. He was a man with a big heart for helping others who believed in helping themselves.

A memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held March 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Southern Hills Baptist Church on SW 89th and Penn in Oklahoma City, OK.
