Terry L. Stevens

On April 29, 2023 our beloved Terry was welcomed into his Heavenly home, and into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Terry was born on December 4, 1955 in Oklahoma City to Mary Ann & Glenn Alvin Stevens. He was raised in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from U.S. Grant High School in 1974. After graduation he began to pursue his college education, but in 1975 he made a selfless decision to enlist in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany during his service, and returned to Oklahoma City upon receiving his honorable discharge from service.

In 1978, Terry began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a Installation Technician. It was here that he met his souls companion; Karen Quinnett. The two were engaged by December of ’79, & committed to each other through the bond of marriage on March 15, 1980. The two established their lives in Oklahoma City, & thereafter expanded their family with the births of two children Zac and Michelle.

Among the numerous memories, we remember his love for many things. He was an OU football season ticket holder since 1975, and he attended every game he could. Terry loved the sport of fishing, and would spend hours on the water enjoying Gods creations. He was a skilled bowler, softball player, & golfer. Terry played basketball at Calvary Temple in Oklahoma City for many years, and was a competitive player, and an overall great athlete. He enjoyed going to the farm with his son Zac, and his brothers to shoot rifles and reminisce. Terry was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Serving his country, he took the ultimate pledge of courage, bravery, and a promise to protect the lives of others. While serving overseas, Terry was stationed in Göppingen, Germany. He loved touring the old castles found throughout Germany. He would always say how beautiful it was there and how friendly the people were. He also traveled to Rome, Italy and Zurich Switzerland. He truly appreciated the opportunity to travel while stationed in Germany.

Above all else, Terry was a devoted husband and father. One of his favorite things to do was cook Saturday morning breakfast for the family and even friends. It would be no simple breakfast either. Always providing an abundance of food to those he served. His menu offered omelets, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, you name it, and Terry personally served it to you as a sign of love.

While he enjoyed the fruits of life, his legacy remains with his family. Terry Lee Stevens was a kind soul. He was a loving and sweet husband, a doting and wonderful Dad, a dear brother & close friend who will remain in our hearts eternally. Terry loved his family and friends deeply. These are moments that will be cherished in our hearts until the day we finally see him again, yet we rejoice; as he has a new body and a new home in Heaven.
