Agnes Morphew Jones Peddicord

June 16, 1932 ~ March 13, 2024

Agnes Morphew Jones Peddicord, 91, went to be with her Heavenly father on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. The daughter of George Washington Morphew and Dona Belle (Robertson) Morphew, she was born June 16, 1932 in Elmore, Oklahoma She grew up attending schools in the Elmore area and graduated from Elmore High School in 1950, Elmore, Oklahoma . Agnes continued her education at Ada Business College, She only had a year of college, having had to quit and come home to care for her dying mother. On April 5, 1952, she married her sweetheart, Duane Calvin Jones and together shared more than 57 years of marriage together. This union of marriage was blessed with one child. They lived in the city, but also had a small ranch they called "The Farm." There they had an orchard from which Agnes enjoyed canning the fruits, and they had cattle as well as a silly donkey, goats and various farm cats. They either adopted or found homes for the various strays that made their way there. When she was 80 Agnes married John Peddicord on December 6, 2011, until he passed away on June 30, 2019. In addition to being a loving wife, devoted mother and dedicated homemaker, Agnes also worked as an aircraft administrator in the certification division for the Federal Aviation Administration for many years before her retirement. She started at the bottom as a secretary at the Federal Aviation Administration. She worked her way ever higher; retiring long after she was scheduled to, because she had become so valuable to the FAA it took many years for her to prepare her successors to take over her job. Agnes was a faithful member of Southwest Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. Agnes was very passionate about animals, especially the family's house pets, but nothing was as important as being with her family whom she loved with all of her heart. Agnes was known for her quilting, crafting, fancy embroidery, and gardening, and she enjoyed canning, reading, and keeping her home spotless. She will be fondly remembered as a kind, loving generous woman, and devoted mother. She loved and cared deeply for her family and she will be held close to our hearts each day. She was preceded in death by her: Parents; George Washington Morphew and Dona Belle (Robertson) Morphew: Husbands: Duane Calvin Jones and John Peddicord. She leaves behind her loving family: daughter: Dena Keszler and her husband, Douglas; niece, Janet Feril and her husband, Carl; nephew, Jim Morphew and his wife, Maureena; nephew, Kip Morphew and his wife, Brenda; as well as many other good friends.
