Alice "Rose" Baker, 79, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, went to be with the Lord, July 28, 2009. She was a longtime resident of Bethany. Rose was born to Charles and Cecelia Grove in Montgomery, Indiana on July 18, 1930. She moved to Oklahoma as a young woman and married B. R. "Red" Baker in 1947. Rose enjoyed life to the fullest, she never met a stranger. She was an exceptional homemaker known for being a great cook and she loved tending to her flowers & garden, she also loved to attend the Post 12 American Legion center where she had many friends. Rose was an active member at Council Road Baptist Church, helping with the nursery and volunteer work. She formerly worked as a volunteer for Bethany General Hospital. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister; Mary Grove. She is survived by her sons Allan Baker and wife Chris of Edmond, Bruce Baker and wife Marilyn of Edmond, grandchildren; Travis, Chad, Devon, Lauren, and Tara, great-grandchildren; Blake and Alana, her brother; Arnold Grove of California and her sister; Jeannie Bush & husband Ben of California. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Friday, July 31, 2009 at Council Road Baptist Church 2900 N. Council Road. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Wednesday and Thursday at Vondel Smith Mortuary North Colonial Chapel.
