Obituary

Alma Lynn Nettle was born June 12, 1926, in Laneville, Texas to James and Floy Grounds. She passed from this earth on November, 27, 2019, to be with her heavenly father, family members and friends who passed before her. She was 93 years young. She married her high-school sweetheart and childhood neighbor Jasper Nettle. They have been married 74 years. They have 3 children; Fred Nettle of OKC, Jenny Christian of OKC and Steve Nettle of Celina, TX. She loved her family with all her heart and she was the best mother a child could have. When Jenny was a little girl, Alma Lynn said to her "someday I want to own a flower shop" and in the early 1960's, without any floral experience, she and Jasper bought the Jewel Box Florist and grew it into one of the most well known florists in Oklahoma City for over 50 years. When Jasper and Alma Lynn retired, their son Fred took over the business which is still in existence today. Alma Lynn was a beautiful person and, if you were blessed to have her as a friend, you were loved unconditionally. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune and Sunday drives through the countryside. She was happiest when near her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A couple of things she held dearly were being near the one's she loved and her lipstick which, she always had nearby and was rarely seen without it on. Other less known enjoyments were riding on the back of motorcycles or ATVs throughout the countryside and all types of music. Alma had an excellent memory and excelled in mathematics until the day she passed. In the end, Alma was surrounded by her husband and loving children and peacefully entered heaven. She is survived by her sons Fred Nettle of OKC, Steve Nettle and wife Thao Lieu of Celina, Tx. and her daughter Jenny Christian and her husband Chris of OKC. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. This world has lost a precious soul.
