IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Almeda Gaye
Butler
August 2, 1940 – October 13, 2025
Almeda "Gaye" Butler, 85, of Edmond passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her home on Monday, October 13th, 2025.
Gaye was born in Tecumseh, Oklahoma on August 2, 1940 to Burton and Edna Sullivan. She was raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. With three young daughters (Kim Haubenchild, Diane Waters, and Wende Leos), she married the love of her life, Lynndall 'Lynn' Butler in 1966. Together they had one son, Mark Butler.
Gaye and her family were long time members of Central Assembly of God where she played the church organ and sang with the Kinsman Quartet. She and Lynn were later members of Crossing Community Church where they enjoyed singing in the choir. Her love and passion for God and the church never waned.
Gaye was blessed with a great work ethic, enjoying two separate careers as a medical office manager and marketing specialist for Integris Health. Gaye retired in 2015 at the age of 75. In her spare time, Gaye enjoyed attending church, being with family and interior decorating. She was a true outlier. She has been dubbed 'the original house flipper' by her family as she began buying, updating and selling homes in her 30's. Gaye will always be remembered for her tenacity, fighting spirit, and dedication to family and church.
