Alvin Joseph "Joe" Matthis, Jr. passed away Friday, January 1, 2016 after a short illness. He was 60 years old. The son of Genevieve & Alvin Matthis of Alexandia, LA. He came to Oklahoma and worked for David Matthis Foundations & Stems. He also served with honor in the US Navy. Joe enjoyed watching NASCAR races, grilling and spending time with his family. He loved all of his family and always enjoyed his children and grandchildren.

• His step-son, Matthew Johnson

Suvivors include:

• His wife, Deborah Matthis

• Sons by his first wife Diana: David Michael and Jason Matthis

• Brother, Jimmy & wife, Beverly Matthis of Alexandria, LA

• Grandchildren: Jagger, Jason, Harley and Linkan, all of Mustang, OK.

Joe was a wonderful husband, a dearly loved "Pop's" and wonderful "Papa". He is dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
