Obituary

Andy Lane of Yukon passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at his home.

Andy Franklin Lane was born March 6, 1946, in the Dogtown Bottom area near Dustin, Okla. He was the son of Charles Benjamin and Lily Mae (Hawkins) Lane.

When he was a small child, the family moved to Oklahoma City and Andy attended Oklahoma City Public Schools from Mark Twain Elementary to Central High School, where he graduated in 1964.

He married Linda Butler on June 27, 1964, and they celebrated more than 60 years of marriage. They had three children.

Andy worked in construction trades for several years, including six years with General Dynamics in Texas. Returning to Oklahoma, he operated his own concrete construction firm for more than 50 years.

He was a member of Hillcrest Pentecostal Church of God and served many years as a Sunday School teacher and deacon.

Andy loved to hunt and fish as a youth, and enjoyed playing golf with his son. Family, work, friends and church were his favorite activities. He loved people and befriended everyone. He always had a smile and a story – or many stories. In retirement, Andy and Linda enjoyed spending days at their second home in the country. They also traveled by getting in the car and seeing where the road would lead.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Jerry Alan Lane; his brothers, Harvey and Huey, and a sister, Dorothy.

He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; eldest daughter Tina Dawson and her children Tiffany Schumacher, Randa Mixon and Chelsea Mixon; youngest daughter Michelle Fuentes and her husband Mark, and their daughters Ryenn and Reese Fuentes; former daughter-in-law Cindy Lane Phillips and children Jordyn Price and her husband Tyler, and DaNaiza Lane. He also is survived by his sisters Alice, Betty and Connie.

His great-grandchildren are Tristan Schumacher, Aniyah Black, Kaselynn Miller, Kynzlee Miller, Everlee Rosario, Anderson "Andy" Price, and Julia Price.

Viewing and visitation at the funeral home will be 4 to 8 pm Friday, February 21, 2025. Celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Vondel Smith Mortuary, 6934 S. Western, Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
