Obituary

Ann was the fourth of six children of Joseph and Sophie (Zielinski) Barysiewicz, born March 25, 1918 in Chicago, IL. After attending Fangor High School and working at Sears and Pullman Aircraft as one of the "Rosie the Riveters" she married John J. Migdat on June 9, 1951 at St. Catherine of Genoa Church in Chicago. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 50 years. She lived a long, healthy, and happy 94 years and had a tremendous love and loyalty for her family and friends. She lived through the Great Depression which instilled a true independent spirit. She was a hardworking wife and mother. She assisted her husband in whatever needed to be done for their home business. They were always working side by side together. She and her husband always encouraged education to their two daughters who both graduated from the University of Oklahoma. She continued stressing to get a good education to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a modest but proud woman who was plain spoken and straight forward. She and John truly believed in living within their means and lived by the motto, "Waste not, want not." She prayed continually for her family and found God's peace in who she was and where she was in every phase of life's journey. Ann was preceded in death by her husband John, whose earthly journey ended in 1997; her parents; brothers Don, Eddie Brasiewicz and Walter Pielnik; and sister Mary Bowman. She is survived by her daughters Carol Elder and husband Joe, Judy Holdcraft and husband Karl; grandchildren Karl II "Scott" and Mark Holdcraft, Karen Ludwig and husband Terrell, John Elder and wife Amanda, and Rachel Elder; great grandchildren Aubreanna and Karl III "Sam" Holdcraft, Julie and Seth Holdcraft, Tenley Ludwig, and Warren Elder; sister Helen Dudzik of Hobart, IN and Lil Pielnik her sister-in-law of South Holland, IL, and many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Bellevue Nursing Center and Mercy Hospice for their kind and loving care. Memorials may be made to St. James The Greater Catholic Church or Mercy Hospice, 4401 W. Memorial Rd.
