IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ardeana Kay
Shiplet
January 5, 1944 – August 23, 2022
Vondel Smith Mortuary (13125 N. MacArthur Blvd)
Ardeana Kay Shiplet was born January 5, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana to R.D Vowell and Velma Vowell. She died peacefully on August 23, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. Ardeana graduated valedictorian from Velma-Alma high school in 1962 and attended Central State College for one year. She loved family, life, nature and home. God blessed her with all she needed and wanted. She was fortunate to have been nurtured with wonderful parents, sister, children and mentors throughout her life. God brought her daughter Amber into the world because she prayed for and longed for a child. What a blessing! God brought Larry Shiplet into her life in 1983 as a great husband because she had asked the Lord to bring her a friend. He was all of that and more. He also brought children Tracy and Jason to give her an extended family. She leaves cherished memories with her husband, Larry Shiplet; daughter, Amber Lorraine Martin Cunningham and husband Aaron; 2 grandsons, Avery and Asher Cunningham; step-daughter, Tracy and her husband Tony; granddaughter, Ashley Burch; Step-son, Jason Shiplet; sister, Judy Hooker; and niece, Kimberly Hooker Hughes.
No formal funeral, but rather a gathering of close family in the near future to laugh and celebrate her happy life.
She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, OK.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 N.E 13th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73104, or to your favorite charity.
