IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arminta Jean
Harms
July 19, 1935 – December 23, 2025
Arminta Jean Harms, better known as Mimi, was born on July 19, 1935, in Irran, Texas to John and Pansy McGlasson, and went to her Heavenly Home on December 23, 2025. John and Pansy raised Arminta, her twin brother Paul, and brothers Benny and Billy Joe in the Oil Field Camps of south Texas.
Arminta attended Denver City High School, where she was very active in the marching band, and was named the first Denver City High School Band Queen in her Senior year. After High School Arminta moved to Oklahoma City and lived with her cousin Wanda. Her first job was as a ticket taker at the movie theater, and she later went on to be a bookkeeper for CR Anthony Co. She eventually attended college where she learned drafting which she put to good use later in life with the family business, Williams Automatic Sprinkler.
She met and married George Burton Harms in 1955 and they went on to have four children. Gale Burton, Sharon Lynn, Lewis Wayne, and Arthur Lee Harms. They raised their children in NE Oklahoma in the small community of Peggs on a 500-acre ranch. They raised cattle and grew a large garden. She often referred to those days as some of her best memories.
In the late 70's they sold the ranch and moved to Oklahoma City where they opened Williams Automatic Sprinkler, which went on to be a thriving business. Upon retirement, Mimi and Burton traveled to all 50 states, 95 national parks, and several foreign countries. Later they purchased a spot in River Ranch in Rio Honda, Texas where they enjoyed hosting family and friends for visits.
Mimi had several hobbies and you could always find her reading a novel, pencil coloring, doing diamond art, or putting puzzles together. She said her greatest joy was having her grandchildren near and being a part of their lives.
In her more docile years, you could find her zipping across the property on her favorite scooter gifted to her by her son, scoping out the garden for tomatoes to be picked, and then promptly eaten by herself, or simply enjoying fresh air on the back porch and relishing in the company of the many visitors that came to see her.
Arminta was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Pansy McGlasson, her brothers Paul, Benny, and Billy Joe McGlasson. Her Husband George Burton Harms, Son Gale Burton Harms, and Daughter Sharon Lynn Harms.
She is survived by her sons Lewis Wayne Harms; Arthur Lee and wife Kathy Harms; Grandchildren Wesley Sweat, Austin and Alex Harms, Emily and husband Steve Craig, Carrie and husband Halston Lakin; Great-Grandchildren Charles and George Craig, Evelyn Lakin; Neice Becky Southard and her children Dylan and wife Katelyn McGlasson, their children Bella, Lilah, and Riggs, Lasey and husband Kyle Hayes, and their daughter Margo, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
If you were lucky enough to have met her, you knew you had met an angel on Earth. Her beautiful smile and radiant soul will live on in our hearts, and she will be deeply missed.
