Arnetta, 92, joined her heavenly father and was joyfully reunited with her husband, Bill, and a host of other family and friends on June 23, 2023.
Arnetta was born on July 1, 1930 in Tuttle, Oklahoma to James Arnett & Jessie Mae (Avery) Dixon. At the age of 6 the family moved to Oklahoma City where she would spend the rest of her life. She attended Washington Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, and Central High School. Arnetta's first job was at the family owned Bluebird Cafe in Oklahoma City where they also lived upstairs. She was a very hard worker and was involved in all aspects of the restaurant. The Bluebird was the restaurant where she met the love of her life, Bill Liebegott, a firefighter working out of Station 1. Bill and Arnetta were married on Aug 19, 1947 in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage until Bill's death in September of 2015. They were also blessed with 2 children, "Little" Bill and Jean Ann. Arnetta was a Cub Scout and a Girl Scout leader when her children were growing up. Even after her scouts grew up she always addressed them as her scouts, and they lovingly called her "mother." Arnetta worked in public service for over 20 years. She worked at the Oklahoma State Capitol in the Copy Room and as an administrative clerk managing payroll and human resources for the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. Following retirement both Arnetta & Bill volunteered their time at their church and assisted in numerous areas associated with the Oklahoma City Retired Firefighters Association. They enjoyed traveling around the US and spending time with friends and family along the way.
Arnetta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; son Bill, Jr; 5 brothers Jim, Benton, Ray, Orville & Jess; two sisters Mildred Riley and Emma "Jean" Ford. She is survived by her daughter Jean Toolate and her husband Johnny; 3 grandchildren: Christie Shea, Michael Liebegott and wife Rachel, and Brooks Lambert and wife Rachel.
