Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 16 at Wilmont Place Baptist Church. Arthur Lee "Art" Chenoweth, 91, joined his Savior in heaven January 10, 2013. He was born October 14, 1921 in Chickasha, Oklahoma the son of John William and Ethel Anne (Harris) Chenoweth. After graduating from Sapulpa High School, Art proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U. S. Marine Corp during WWII as a Pharmacist Mate. After being wounded at the Battle for Guadalcanal in 1942, he returned to Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma A&M, becoming the first student to enroll on the new G.I. Bill. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post office until his retirement in 1977 then began his own business installing alarm systems. He was a faithful member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and through the years , loved working with youth through the Falls Creek ministry; created the first sound system using Army surplus electrical supplies; and trained and mentored generations of young Christians. In his last years he had a heart for reaching out to people through his card ministry. Art enjoyed photography, his HO model trains, wood carving, electronics, building anything, repairing anything, playing his harmonicas, building and playing the steel guitar. He loved his family and was always happiest when any or all of his children and grandchildren were at his house having fun together.

He is survived by:
• the love of his life, wife of 68 years, Evelyn Wagner Chenoweth;
• 4 children, Lynn Newton and husband Charles of OKC, Duane Chenoweth and wife Connie of OKC, Ginger Le Blanc and husband Bill of Highlands Ranch, CO, Mark Chenoweth and wife Luellen of Mustang, OK;
• 8 Grandchildren;
• 13 Great Grandchildren;
• 2 Great Great Granddaughters, one arriving at the end of January; 3 nieces and 2 nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wilmont Place Baptist Church for the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma Russia Mission Trip.
