Arthur John Janssen died on June 11, 2009 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born May 31, 1917 in New York City, NY to Karl and Maria Janssen. Arthur moved to Oklahoma City in 1968, he worked as Manager for TWA for 37 years. He was married to Catherine Priestley Janssen on March 18, 1944. Arthur served in WWII and was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corps with the rank of Captain. He was involved in his church, Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, where he was a member and a volunteer. Arthur is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Catherine Priestley Janssen and his brother, Carl Janssen. Arthur is survived by his brothers, William and Henry Janssen; his children, Arthur J. Janssen and wife Colleen; Margaret Windmueller and husband Paul; Maria Mickley and husband Jim; Thomas P. Janssen, M.D. and wife Cynthia Witten Janssen; Judy Myers and husband Michael; 11 grandchildren, Hayden, Cathy, Chris, and Pat Janssen, Ron and Amy Windmueller, Jessica Hounshell, Jason Mickley, Emily, David, and Elliot Janssen; and 2 great grandchildren, Aiden and Jessika Hounshell. He will be remembered as a loving father and PaPa. Family and friends will miss him. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Vincent de Paul & Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4-8pm Saturday & Sunday with the family receiving friends on Sunday from 4-6pm at Vondel Smith & Son North Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 15, 2009 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, 7336 W. Britton Road, with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
