Barbara Marie Curry Epperson was born March 24, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Clara and Lee Curry. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1949, then worked in the Oklahoma City School System. In 1951 she was employed at Tinker Air Force Base where she met L.C. (Bud) Epperson. They were married on June 5, 1953. Bud had two children Buddye Karol, who was 8 years old and Larry who was 11 years old, whose mother was deceased. Bud and Barbara then became the parents of two sons, Gregory Lee in 1956 and Douglas Alan in 1957.
They faithfully worshipped the Lord Jesus at the 10th and Shartel Church of God for many years. When the children were grown, Barbara began a cookie business called "Barb's Sugar Cookie Dough" which she sold in 38 stores in Oklahoma City, Norman and Edmond. She and Bud attended several churches after the Shartel property was sold to St. Anthony's Hospital which included Nichols Hills Baptist, Council Road Baptist and Crossings Community. Bud went to heaven on April 11, 2009. Barbara then moved to Southern Plaza Retirement Center and made many new friends there. She supported Bethany First Church of the Nazarene because she could no longer personally attend. She loved her children Greg and wife Lynette Epperson, Doug and wife Cheryl Epperson, Buddye and her husband Don Hayes. Her grandchildren Josh and wife Andria Epperson. James Douglas (JD) and wife Brittany Epperson. Sara Walquist and her husband James. Whitney Ellers and her husband Ryan. Amy Hayes and Angela Hayes.
