Please copy and paste their link into your web browser https://www.pioneerbible.org/ryanandjordankopke On the warm summer afternoon of August 23, 2021, Barbara Lowery left this earth and entered the presence of Jesus. To the last moment of her life, she walked faithfully with the Lord, loved and served her family, and made everyone around her feel like they lit up the room. She is survived by her husband of over 21 years, Wayne; her blended family of Rob, Jenny, Sarah and Hannah Greggs; Gayle, Neil, Mark and Audrey Lambrecht; Lindsay, Josh, Charlie, Taylor and John Gruntmeir; David, Jaci and Abby Greggs; Johanna, Jesse and Meadow Stephens; Rebecca, Clayton, Levi and Nate Denton; Jason, Melanie, Samuel and Waylon Lowery; Michael, Tami, Seth, Mason, Joseph and Caleb Lowery, and Matthew Lowery; her parents Milond and Phyllis Cunningham; and her brother and his wife, Bruce and Wallacene Cunningham. Barbara was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Omaha, Nebraska; as a child she was obedient, helpful, did well in school and had a good sense of humor. She received Christ as Savior at Polk Bible Camp in Nebraska as a teenager. She was known for her love for the Lord, her kindness to others, and her faithfulness and devotion to Wayne, the love of her life. Together, Wayne and Barb had nine children and seventeen grandchildren. Wayne and Barb found each other later in life but still made many happy memories traveling to Hawaii every year, riding bikes together often, and enjoying their family and many grandchildren. Barbara was a talented baker and chef, and whether it was during tornado season, holidays, or monthly family dinners, she always cooked and baked extravagantly for her guests. She was a gracious host who never turned anyone away, a welcoming and calming presence to anyone who entered her home, and the embodiment of a Proverbs 31 woman. Some of Barbara's accomplishments include her education at Moody Bible Institute, finishing the Nursing program at Oklahoma City Community College in December, 2012, serving as a nurse at St. Anthony's Bone and Joint Hospital for nearly a decade, the prestigious Excellence in Nursing Award in 2019, raising and homeschooling her six children, and mentoring dozens of women over the course of her life through church, Pampered Chef, and her nursing career. Barbara was a gifted artist and seamstress, she played several instruments including the flute, harp and percussion, but especially loved to play the piano, which she learned from her mom. For all her achievements, her family will remember most her faithfulness to God, her deep and abiding love for her husband, what a terrific big sister she was, and the incredible mother and grandmother she was. A memorial service is scheduled for all who would like to celebrate Barbara's life on Monday, August 30, 2021, at 10:00 in the morning at Graceway Baptist Church. Flowers and Donations can be sent to the Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary of South Oklahoma City.
