Barbara Louise Shipley went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the age of 82. She had trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord many years ago, thus we all celebrate her life knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). She was surrounded by family and friends in her home throughout the final week of her life on this earth – just the way she wanted it to be! Barbara was born October 30, 1940, in Great Falls, Montana to her parents, Edwin Allen and Louise Leigh (Brougher) Pierse. She married the love of her life, George Alan Shipley on July 14, 1962, and they shared a lifetime of memories together. Their favorite thing to do was attending their grandchildren's various events no matter where this would take them across the country. They would never miss a ballgame, cheer or dance competition, or gymnastics meet. Barbara loved gatherings for family events as well as with her longtime friends from Tulsa and sorority sisters in OKC. She was a bookkeeper throughout most of her employment career and served as the financial secretary at Antioch Christian Church in OKC, OK, for 20 years. Barbara dearly loved her church family at Southern Hills Baptist Church. She was the hospitality chair for her Sunday School class for many years. Many of you know how Barbara suffered physically for most of her adult life, yet she would not let that slow her down. She would put on a smiling face while enduring the pain out of her love for her family. The entire family rejoices in knowing she is in pain no more! She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by her:

Husband: George Alan Shipley of Oklahoma City, OK.

Daughters: Stephanie Leigh Gunter of Oklahoma City, OK (husband, Rick), Shawnna Linn LeDuc of Mustang, OK (husband, Jeff).

Grandchildren: Blake Alan Gunter of Oklahoma City, OK (wife, Taryn), Shaye Lynn Jones of Norman, OK (husband, Dalton), Aleigh Elizabeth Vickers of Mustang, OK (husband, Ashton), Collin Craig LeDuc of Mustang, OK (fiancé, Joslyn Glitzke), and Kinlee Grace LeDuc of Mustang, OK.

Great-grandchildren: Colt Alan Gunter, Colbi Rae Gunter, and Conley James Gunter of Oklahoma City, OK.

Brother: Allen "Red" Pierse of Collinsville, OK (wife, Linda).

A host of loving nieces and nephews along with many great friends.
