On Tuesday December 21, 2021, Barbara Jean Vermillion entered into the gates of Heaven.
She was born on March 7th, 1939 in Oklahoma City, OK to her parents Charles F. Murray and Latha Mae "Mazie" Murray.

In 1957 Barbara graduated from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School where she was active in Glee club.

On July 21, 1962, Barbara married Jim Vermillion and the two established their family in Oklahoma City, where she worked in data processing as a key punch operator for Corkin International. Barbara also worked various part time jobs until her retirement. During retirement Barbara enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and expressing her creativity by cross-stitching pictures for her girls or crocheting baby blankets and toys for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara was known to be a hard worker, but her most important work was that of a devout wife, & a loving and caring mother of their five children.

Barbara enjoyed traveling with Jim to watch the Sooners play football and basketball. They enjoyed sharing trips to bowl games and the National Championship with their grandsons.

Barbara's happiest moments were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew her as "Granny". She came to as many baseball, softball, football, basketball games and wrestling matches as she possibly could, and you could always hear her cheering and voicing her opinion on the call. Her presence will be forever missed, but we are given comfort in knowing that she is SAFE at home, in the arms of her Lord and Savior.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, James Alan "Jimmy" Vermillion; her parents Charles & Mazie Murray; three brothers: Chuck Murray, Steve Murray, & Mike Murray.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years Jimmy; Daughters: Sheri Rogers, Lori & husband Randy Smith, and Karen and husband Scott Smith; Son Stephen Vermillion; her brother Robert Murray; her sister Mary White; 7 Grandchildren: David Rogers & wife Kayla, Jami & husband Chaz Mattocks, Chris Rogers & wife Kelsey, Timothy James Smith & Kaitlin Mae Smith, Cara Smith & fiancé Norris Langford, and Shelby & husband Conner Reynolds; 10 great-grandchildren: Rylee, Bennett, Daters, Delvon, Dedrick, Lilli, Jackson, Maizy, Norah & James; as well as a large number of cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.
