Beatrice, known as "Miss Bea" was born on the 3rd of August, 1924, in Carlton, Minnesota, one of five children born to Della Cieslik and Roy Groeschel. Her father was a railroad car inspector and her mother a housewife. Sadly, her father died in 1936 when Beatrice was only 12. In 1946, her mother was remarried to Anton Pejsa.

Miss Bea started her studies at St. Mary School of Nursing, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in August, 1943, as a member of the World War II Cadet Nursing Corp., graduating as a Registered Nurse on August 28, 1946. She had a career working for the Veterans Administration.

On December 8, 1973, Miss Bea married Jorge A. Miranda-Vargas in McLennan, Texas. They were married 30 years before his passing in 2003. She leaves behind cherished memories with her her step-daughter, Sara Barritt and husband, Christopher; 2 granddaughters, Miranda and Katie; nieces, Barbara, Beverly, Kathy, Jo, Linda and nephew, David. As well as, 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM with inurnment following at Resurrection Cemetery.
