Bennie Ralph Jacobs was born September 7, 1940 and entered heaven on Friday, September 20, 2024 after a courageous fight with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George and Ruth Jacobs. A few years later he became a big brother to Phyllis and they grew up together in a home of love. Bennie attended Capitol Hill high school where he met Tommy Sue Cash, who became and will always be the love of his life. He was a star football player for the Redskins and went on to play collegiate ball at the University Wyoming. He was recruited by the Chicago Bears but declined the offer to visit and instead came home to marry his sweetheart. They were happily married for 64 years and are the proud parents of Steve Jacobs of Midwest City and Dee Mcdougall of Newcastle. Upon his return to Oklahoma Bennie went to work at Western Electric where he was employed for 30 years and promoted to a department chief before retiring. When offered early retirement at the age of 50 he gladly accepted so that he could focus his time and attention on his bride, traveling, playing golf and serving others. Bennie was known as a gentle giant. Tall, handsome and the best laugh around he was loved by many friends, fellow church members, family and fellow Sooner fans. His love for Tommy, his family and the Lord was the beacon that led him throughout his life. He was known as a servant of others. He selflessly served widows in his church as well as the South Walker Church of Christ where Bennie and Tommy were faithful members for many years as well as provided for the needs of others his entire life. His generosity of time and resources made the difference in the lives of many. He loved having a clean truck, a perfect lawn and cheering on the OU Sooners but his true love could be seen most prominently when he talked about his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the apple of his eye. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, little sister and several other family members who joyfully welcomed him into heaven. He was survived by his beautiful bride Tommy Sue Jacobs, his son and daughter in law Steve and Sherri Jacobs, his daughter and son in law Dee and Greg Mcdougall , his grandchildren , great grandchildren The world was a better place because of Bennie Jacobs and he will be dearly missed.
