Bernice King, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5th, 2025 with her family by her side.

Bernice, (lovingly referred to as "Granny Bill") was born in Homer, Oklahoma on April 10, 1941 to Joe and Vera Brown. She was raised in Hennepin, Oklahoma. Bernice was the youngest of 12 children.

She married the love of her life, Jimmy Don King, on August 11, 1956. Bernice and Jimmy Don were blessed with three children, Jimmy Lloyd, Tracy Walker and Rachel Ann.

Bernice was a devoted wife and loving mother. She cared dearly for her family and made sure they knew how much each of them meant to her.

Bernice graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with Special Distinction. She went on to become an elementary teacher for Oklahoma City Public Schools. She worked at Star Elementary and Prairie Queen Elementary as a 4th grade teacher. She devoted over 25 years to enriching the lives of countless children. She made wonderful memories with the children and her coworkers during her teaching career.

Bernice was a longtime member at South West Baptist Church for many years and was very active with Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoyed serving the Lord and the fellowship she experienced through BSF brought her great joy. In her spare time Bernice liked watching Blue Bloods & the OKC Thunder. She loved visits from her family most of all. She loved to share stories and reminisce about the old days when she was a young girl growing up in Southern Oklahoma.

Bernice was well known for her quick wit and proper grammar (yours and hers) Bernice… "Granny Bill" will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on through her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Joe and Vera, her in-laws Lloyd and Jessie, and her husband Jimmy Don King

She is survived by her Son, Jimmy Lloyd King and his wife, Brenda; Son, Tracy Walker King and his wife, Ann; Daughter, Rachel Ann Clapp and her husband, Donnie; Sisters Dott Wells and Fern Primrose; Grandchildren: Justin and his wife, Samantha, Emilie and her husband, Jeff, Shane and his wife, Heather, Tyler, Kylie and  her husband, Jared, Chase and his wife, Anna, Sydney and her husband , Cameron, and Lane and his girl, Hailey; Great Grandchildren: Tanner, Chaseton, Haylee, Bree, Jackson, Josie, Elliot, Bowen, Brinley, Karter, and Jemma, Zoey, Miley and Lila. Many other loving family and friends.
