Beryle E. James, 90, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 in Oklahoma City. Beryle was born on April 6, 1923 in Oklahoma City to Enoch and Eula James. Beryle graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1941, Attended OCU, and also served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict, and then he married the love of his life, Patricia Tyson on April 6, 1946, and together they shared 67 years of marriage. Beryle was a proud member of Cherokee Hills Church of Christ, and was also a member of IBEW Local 1141 American Legion. Beryle is preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Eula James; a brother, Jack James; sisters, Gladys Blackmon, June Miller, and Shirley James; and his son, three months ago, Randy James. Beryle is survived by his loving wife, Patricia James; his daughter, Nancy Serwer; grandchildren, Dr. Bradley Serwer, and Valerie Serwer; great grandchildren, Gavin, Brayden and Cooper Serwer; sister in law, Jean Culp; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Clare Bridge for their love and care of Beryle. A funeral service to commemorate Beryle's life will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 7801 NW Expressway, OKC. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Alzheimers Association, 2123 N. Classen, OKC, OK 73106.
