Betty Joy Hill was born in Hanna, Oklahoma on May 29, 1927 to Doug and Cora Minyard. She grew up in Henryetta, Oklahoma where she was known as a child to roller skate up and down the streets and everywhere she went. The family moved to Oklahoma City when Joy was a teenager. When WWII broke out Joy joined the female workforce at Tinker where she met Cletius Hill, a red headed soldier returning from the war. They were married on her 21st birthday, a union lasting 66 years. After the marriage she continued at Tinker Air Force Base, then later began working at Jefferson Heights Daycare, where she ultimately became Director. Later she was employed at the very first Toys 'R' Us store to open in Oklahoma City. Cletius and Joy were long time members of Knob Hill Baptist Church where they established many long time and lasting friendships. Joy was a very caring wife, mother, and doting "Mamma". Her love and affinity to animals and their welfare was huge, especially to cats. She was preceded in death by: • her parents • husband – Cletius Hill • three sisters Marie, Charlene, and Norma and oldest brother Lynn. She is survived by: • brother - Jack Minyard and wife Pat, • son - Stephen G. Hill and wife Julie of Colorado • Daughter - Cynthia D. Kimbrough and husband Charles. • Grandchildren Zachary Hill and Adam Smith and his wife Kristen. Also, Lucas Kimbrough and wife Jessica and Katie Dale. • Joy was blessed to have 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joy had special friends everywhere she went. A special thank you to Senior Village in Blanchard as well as Crossroads Hospice for their loving care and comfort during her last months. The family has been comforted by many prayers and would like to thank all of those who have reached out and lifted us up with support.
